The opening of the new railcar assembly plant in Chicago’s 10th ward is more than year off, but the excitement regarding the opening of the facility and the new jobs being created has resulted in a number of questions regarding the positions and hiring schedule. To answer your questions, Alderwoman Susan Sadlowski Garza and CRRC are hosting a community meeting to provide an update regarding the construction and the hiring plans for the facility.

The meeting will be held Monday, December 11th at 6:00 p.m. at UAW Local 551 Union Hall located at 13550 S Torrence Ave in Chicago. The meeting is open to the public and will address a number of topics including a construction update and an overview of the hiring plan, including the types of jobs, qualifications and expected hiring schedule.

Joining Alderwoman Garza will be several representatives from CRRC, including CRRC’s Human Resources Manager Keith Evans.

The meeting will include a presentation and a question and answer session to address issues of interest. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to info@nextstopchicago.com so we can have an idea of how many people plan on attending.
