Ever wonder how a modern passenger railcar is built? CRRC invites schools, colleges, universities, workforce development organizations and business groups to go behind the scenes and experience railcar manufacturing firsthand at its facility on Chicago’s South Side.
During the tour, visitors walk through the production floor and see firsthand how the 7000 Series railcars are assembled, from cab assembly and electrical systems to final inspections and testing. Along the way, guests learn about the advanced manufacturing processes, skilled workforce and teamwork required to build the next generation of CTA railcars right here in Chicago.
Group tours are available during normal production hours when the facility is in operation and can be tailored to a variety of educational and professional interests.
